Linoleum printing
I like linoleum printing for its accessibility and it's rough finish. It is one of the few things I can sit in the sofa and make whilst watching the kids play (i.e watching the kids wreak havoc around the house). Anyway it can be done on the fly without a press, the smaller prints I often make using the back of a spoon to press on the paper.
Most often I use some really thin japanese paper with a nice structure when printing lino, as this paper quite easily makes an even transfer of the colour. I love to print on Hahnemüle or Fabriano cottonrag, although I find it a bit trickier. I usually damp this kind of paper before printing to make it suck up the ink better.
All my linoleum prints are limited editions and for sale in my webshop.
